His paintings have been preserved by TATA Steel, Port Trust of India, Mahanadi Coal Fields Ltd. (Coal India), ILA Panda Center for art, Indian Aluminum Company, Department of Tourism and Culture (Govt. of Odisha), Samay art foundation, Association of Indian Universities, Chitkara university of Chandigarh and various art galleries.

Senior Visual Artist Meenaketan Pattnaik has been a Bhubaneswar-based figurative artist and Faculty Member, B. K. College of Art & Crafts, Government of Odisha, Bhubaneswar since 1999. He is a columnist for NIRVAYA and Odia daily, and also writes for art publications, cultural periodicals, e-journals and visual art journals on art and aesthetics.

In the art field, he is also famous as a 'Monkey Man' since he painted a monkey series for over 22 years (1990-2012). Currently, he is working on youth psychology series which is “contemporary social emotions”. He has also done his artworks on current affairs, the mood of the season, sociology.

He adds drama in composition with a stagy atmosphere to create a visual melody. Rhythmic brush strokes and the employment of unsullied colors are two significant characteristics of his recent canvases.
