A young and talented artist Anamika S is known for her pure contemporary form of art in her field. She is originally from Muzaffarpur, Bihar and currently residing in NOIDA after completing BFA and MFA (Painting) from Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramodaya University, Chitrakoot, and Madhya Pradesh, India.
Some of the artworks are inspired by the social behaviors and cultural aspects which are hardly seen in today’s scenario. And when she moved to the urban city for her livelihood, she found out that the socio-cultural values are at an alarming stage, and people of this generation are full of anxiety and depression which maybe also due to the fast-moving life.
With the growing knowledge of her art, just after the Life series - The Birth and The Foetus, she also found her skills spreading towards the relationship with nature and power she made a series of paintings on the topic Cosmos, Environment and fish.
In the Life series, her peculiar observation about society was the increasing concept of the “Single Child Culture" trend. Due to lack of time, people are not at all willing to have two children. Also, parenting multi-behavioral children is an issue for today’s depressed society and hence the single-child culture is flourishing. So she started a series of her artworks to express the issue and attract the attention of society towards Double Children Culture.
The Cosmos series of paintings is basically an expansion of the Life series, a wide thought of her, for the biggest womb, where she has shown the earth as a Foetus. As we are aware there is no life in any of our neighboring planets except the earth. The earth has all the survival kits for every life form.
In the Fish series, she has very brilliantly connected life’s dangerous truth where the stronger and bigger one eats up the small one, by comparing it with the fishes she has conveyed the same message. In some of her artworks, she has also shown underwater society in a contemporary form where
In the past few years, her most appreciated art series is Life, Cosmos, Roots and Fish etc. And the latest one is Nature, which is basically the positive impact of Covid19 on nature, where she emphasizes the optimistic side of the coronavirus pandemic on this world, where the earth is rejuvenating itself from the harms inflicted upon it by humans.
In her free time, to divert her mind off things a bit, she also makes paintings with acrylic color on canvas based on the environment, while she usually uses pens and ink for her sketches like the foetuses one and fish series. Her acrylic on canvas paintings is also an amazing set of paintings by her. Some landscapes are in semi-realistic form and some are in abstract or semi-abstract form.
In all the above series she has mostly used pen and ink on paper to draw a diagram. Using some random watercolor and mixing it to make an appropriate diagram for expressing her feeling is really attractive and give a meaningful impact on the viewers. Most of the art has been shown in a circular form which depicts to earth. In many of her paintings one can see her signature style – an image of roots or branches of plants emerging from the edges of the figures she has painted, at times we also get to see some baby leaves signifying life. Everywhere meaning varies as per the subject.
So, overall her artwork depicts some social aspects and her love for nature and society.
