Isha Bawiskar is a contemporary Indian visual artist from Latur, Maharashtra, whose work reflects a profound engagement with still-life, interior scenes, and symbolic visual narratives. Her artistic practice is deeply rooted in exploring themes of memory, solitude, reflection, and the quiet emotional textures of everyday moments.

Working primarily with acrylic on canvas, Isha creates compositions that balance formal precision with evocative mood. Her paintings often feature carefully arranged objects, chairs, windows, paper planes, symbolic elements, and subtle light effects, which together suggest inner worlds of thought, introspection, and poetic contemplation. Artist’s Statement:

I am deeply inspired by the Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh, who is my role model. I admire him not only for his beautiful artworks but also for his life journey and struggles.

He was a very hardworking and dedicated artist who created around 2,100 artworks, including nearly 860 oil paintings. Despite his immense talent, he could not sell his paintings during his lifetime. Still, he never gave up and continued to work passionately until the end of his life.

His expressive brushwork and emotional style can be seen in his portraits, self-portraits, landscapes, and still-life paintings. His commitment to art and his strong spirit continue to motivate me in my own artistic journey.
