Sanjeev Sahshwati is not only a famous and experienced Artist but also a Cartoonist, Graphic Designer, Illustrator, Visualizer and a Photographer too.

Born and brought up in Bhagalpur, Bihar, India, has completed his Master Degree from Chandigarh after finishing his Graduation from Bhagalpur University, Tilkamanjhi, Bihar.
Hailing from a middle class family and having spent time with local people of a small town, he has very minutely observed the challenges of lower and middle class people. Using pen, pencil and colors on any surface whether it is paper or canvas, he has shown his endowment on all the grassroot issues and movements through it. He has presented very well a social issue on the life of Rickshaw Puller, Farmers, Labourers & Child Labour etc through his art. His latest series ‘Khamoshi’ (Silence) and ‘Palayan aur Bhookh’ (Migration and Hunger) depicts the true picture of the impact of covid19 epidemic on our society especially on the vagabonds, labours and beggars.
By nature Sanjeev Sahshwati is very humble and helpful to everyone and gives credit to his parents for what he is, who were very supportive to him in chasing his dreams since his childhood. He is also inspired by Mahatma Gandhi and created numerous & beautiful art pieces based on his life story.
Presently he is working as a Head of the Department of Fine Arts, Laxman Public School, Hauz Khas and enjoys his time with creative students and other children.

  • Masters in Fine Arts from Chandigarh University, Punjab in 1998
  • Experimentation, Observation and Innovation in Shanti Niketan, West Bengal
  • Creative work with pen, ink, charcoal, pencil, water colour etc. 

 

Professionally trained for:

  • Had Training in Graphic Software’s like Photoshop, Coreldraw, Illustrator, New Delhi in 2000.
  • Attended Workshop on Documentary Photography from Development and Communication, Hyderabad in 1995.

 

Work Experience:

  • Working as a Senior Art Teacher (PGT, HOD) at Laxman Public School, New Delhi, since 2002 to till date.
  • Working as an Art director at Yuva Samvad (Hindi Magzine), New Delhi, since 2001 to till date.
  • Working as an ‘illusrator and designer’at Rajghat-Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti, New Delhi
  • Working as a Visiting Artist (Art & Craft Activities) for Street Children with Chetna, New Delhi since March, 2002 to till date.
  • Worked as an Artist with Save The Children in 2012.
  • Worked as an Illustrator (Life of Rickshaw & Cycle Puller) with ISDS, New Delhi.
  • Worked as an Artist, Illustrator, Cartoonist, with ‘Amar Ujala & Dainik Jagran Hindi News Paper, Noida (U.P.) from 1999 to 2002.
  • Worked as an Artist Researcher With ‘Lokayan’ (NGO) Delhi, from 1999 to 2002.
