• Designed and installed a second huge Mural (30-meter x 9 meters) depicting characteristics of Bengal for a renowned Information Technology Company for their Second (SDB-II) development building at Bantala, Kolkata (2014). This Mural is the highest in the size in south-east Asia
• Designed and installed a huge Mural (30 meters x 9 meters) depicting characteristics of Bengal for a renowned Information Technology Company for their First (SDB-I) Development building at Bantala, Kolkata (2009). This Mural is the highest in the size in south-east Asia
• Mother Teresa appreciated his work; she loved her portrait which he had painted (in cubic style)

Artist Statement: Uttam Bhattacharya

I do believe that humans are the most beautiful creation of God. Their myriad of expressions, their joys, sorrows and their dreams always fascinate me, intrigue me and fill my mind with wonder and awe. Through my painting, I try to capture my fascination in my own way. In my painting, I intentionally deviate from the realistic portrayal of figures in order to capture and bring to life their world of dreams, agonies and ecstasies in my canvas. The characters I create are from the surrealistic DREAM world. They have dreamy closed eyes-transporting the viewers to their own mystic land of DREAM. 

I take the help of dark colours to capture their pain and bright colour over it to capture their dreams and their hopes of finding endless possibilities within despair and deep trouble. Through my painting, I always try to portray the rhythm of life- brightness in the middle of the impregnable dark, joy in the midst of sorrow and hope amidst desperation.
