IndiGalleria Associates with Shree Kalptaru Sansthan: A Step Towards a Greener Future
At IndiGalleria, we are proud to announce our association with Shree Kalptaru Sansthan, a Jaipur-based NGO committed to the protection, preservation, and conservation of nature. The COVID-19 pandemic and rising pollution levels reminded us how urgently the planet needs healing, and how nature rebounds when humans step back.
Moved by this reality, IndiGalleria and our artists have joined hands with the NGO to support their environmental mission. A portion of the proceeds from our upcoming exhibition will be donated to this noble cause.
To begin this initiative, we launched an online art show from 21st November 2020 to 2nd December 2020, dedicated entirely to creating awareness and contributing toward environmental restoration.
Meet Vishnu Lamba — The Inspirational “Tree Man of India”

The driving force behind Shree Kalptaru Sansthan is Vishnu Lamba, widely known as the Tree Man of India. This title was bestowed upon him by the former President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee, in recognition of his extraordinary work.
His contributions are nothing short of remarkable:
· Nurtured and safeguarded over 50 lakh (5 million) trees across India
· Planted 26 lakh trees with community participation
· Saved 13 lakh trees from being cut
· Distributed 11 lakh saplings free of cost
· Achieved all of this without any government funding
A Life Dedicated to Nature
From a Village Boy to a National Environmental Icon
Born on 3 June 1987 in Lamba village (Tonk District, Rajasthan), Vishnu Lamba’s love for plants began at the age of seven. His passion often led him to “steal” saplings from nearby homes and nurseries, earning him the nickname Plant Thief. His family even sent him to live with relatives to break this habit—but instead, his love for nature only grew stronger.
Connecting India’s Freedom Fighter Families
In a unique initiative, Vishnu travelled across 22 states, locating the families of 56 freedom fighters. He planted saplings at the birthplaces and memorial points of many martyrs and personally introduced their families to President Pranab Mukherjee, raising awareness about their struggles and needs.
Uniting Former Dacoits for Environmental Protection
Inspired by the film Paan Singh Tomar, Vishnu spent nearly two years in the ravines of Chambal, encouraging former dacoits like Malkhan Singh, Gabbar Singh, and Renu Yadav to take a pledge for environmental protection.
On 20 March 2016, he organized the landmark event Pahle Basaaya Beehad – Ab Bachayenge Beehad in Jaipur, where these former outlaws vowed to safeguard the environment.
Protector of Birds and Animals
For over 15 years, Vishnu has:
- Installed countless bird-water pots across Rajasthan during scorching summers
- Conducted free medical camps for birds injured by Chinese manjha during Makar Sankranti
- Run continuous rescue operations for injured birds and animals through his NGO
Shree Kalptaru Sansthan — A Movement, Not Just an NGO
Under Vishnu Lamba’s leadership, the NGO has become one of India’s most respected environmental organisations.

Key Initiatives of the NGO:
- Continuous plantation drives for the last 20+ years
- Saving millions of trees and wildlife by opposing environmentally harmful policies
- A pledge to transform 100 villages into environmentally ideal villages (Kalp Grams)
- Three villages are already progressing towards becoming Adarsh Grams with innovative sustainability models
