Visual Artist Sujata Sarkar, born in 1977 Kolkata, India, after completing her education from Academy of Fine Arts and Birla Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata, becomes professional artist and trying to show her creativity in Tanjore Fusion Art and Contemporary Arts.
She says:
This is the typical types of art originated and famous in southern parts of India, called 'Tanjavur Painting'. The significant of this art is to use the Original Gold foil in the painting for ornamentation or to highlight. Other main focused area is the subject selection of these traditional art works, which always belongs on our Hindu gods, Goddess and some other characters related with that. A flat colour background are always shown in most of those art works. These total compilation and applications creates a different types of art identity, which all known as 'Tanjore Painting', a particular art form of Southern India. Every year there is a huge buyer for these art works within and outside of our country.
As a Fine arts practitioner, I tried to create something different with that particular art work, mixing my concept and fine arts application. It was my type of experimental studio work from long time back. I creates some sample works after spending several experiment towards my new art form, mentioning as 'Tanjore Fusion Art'. I participate few Fine Arts group exhibition in our region with my art works and get a huge appreciation from some leading and well-known Artists in our country. With their complementary, I am now totally focused on my Tanjore Fusion Art and some other contemporary art works.
